Nadera Haj Hasan is from Aleppo, Syria. She was born with physical disabilities that bound her to a wheelchair. Nadera fled Syria with her family when the war there came to her hometown.  After spending two and half years in Istanbul, Turkey, she arrived in Tucson in 2014.  Nadera is a high school student and a passionate painter. She spends most of her days painting landscapes of her home country, places from her dreams and beautiful things she encounters. Her teacher in Aleppo whom Nadera misses was the one who introduced her to the beauty of painting. Nadera hopes to become a doctor when she grows up to help people heal.
